Head out from the shop on Queen street in Alton and head east to Porterfield and down to Beechgrove sideroad, returning on Main street. Great for testing out a new build like a homemade gravel bike you made out of a traded-in Kona, for instance. Features this charming bridge overlook on Beechgrove over the Credit. Return through the Alton Grange if you like.
East on Queen from the shop to Highpoint just north of the railway tracks, or straight up Main street to join Highpoint at the top of the hill. Either way, head west as Highpoint winds through open farmland to Shaw's creek road. Take Beechgrove east back to town unless it's a summer evening and you feel like a locally-brewed pint, in which case keep going on Shaw's to Goodlot Brewing Co., just a couple hundred meters down the road.
For us it’s the Cataract-Elora trail! Just a 10 minute ride from the shop is the Cataract end of the trail. Pick your distance, up to 100k out and back.
Not to be confused with the Alton Grange, this ride is a 32k gravel/pavement/trail loop that takes in Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, Belfountain, and a 500ft climb!
